In 2023 March 8 remote inter-institutional cooperation training was held on the topic - "Content of algorithms and their implementation". The training was attended by a large group of Tauragė district representatives from various organizations and institutions related to youth and health, who in their work have to deal with young people aged 14-29 and their families.

The content of the training consisted of: prevention of sexually transmitted infections and unplanned pregnancy, use of psychoactive substances, alcohol use, depression, suicide and self-harm, health disorders related to overweight and obesity, sexual violence and eating disorders, and inter-institutional cooperation in each case.

These trainings were organized by the public health office of the Tauragė district municipality in the implementation of the project "Implementation of the model of provision of youth-friendly healthcare services (JPSPP) in the municipalities of Plungė, Mažeikiai and Tauragė", which is financed with the funds of the "Health" program of the European Economic Area financial mechanism.

On August 12, we celebrate International Youth Day. This is a good opportunity to remember and pay more attention to youth problems, to encourage young people to participate more actively in social activities, to turn to themselves, to a healthy lifestyle and self-love.Adolescence is a sensitive and challenging time in life, and the experiences, behaviors and health problems of children and adolescents can have long-term effects on both their physical and mental health. The World Health Organization emphasizes that choosing a healthy lifestyle (sufficient physical activity, healthy diet, not having bad habits) helps strengthen health and prevent health disorders in the future.

According to the data of the Department of Statistics in 2022 At the beginning of the year, there were 6,352 young people aged 14‒29 living in Tauragė district municipality, so in our municipality, young people make up almost 20%. population of all residents of the municipality. It is important to remember that among them there are not only happy young people, but also those who are experiencing various emotions and difficulties for many reasons.

Thus, the public health office of the Tauragė district municipality, together with its partners (public health offices of the Plungė and Mažeikiai districts municipalities), is implementing the project "Implementation of the youth-friendly health care services (JPSPP) model in the municipalities of Plungė, Mažeikiai and Tauragė", implemented by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area program "Health" funds.

Taurage district weekly The Office of Public Health and its representative Youth Friendly Health Care Services (JPSPP) coordinator actively contribute to the preservation of good health and well-being of young Tauragis (ages 14-29). During the implementation period of this project, we organize and carry out health-enhancing activities for young people in order to teach young people to cope with stress and psychological problems, to avoid or overcome bad habits, and to encourage them to live a healthy life.

We are happy that our training cycles for young people, conducted on eight different preventive health topics, attracted the interest of the youth of Tauragė: the youth actively participated in them and provided positive feedback. A total of 685 young people participated in 32 youth trainings. They deepened their knowledge by getting answers to their concerns about the following topics: prevention of sexually transmitted infections and unplanned pregnancy and sexual violence, ways to help and consequences of substance and alcohol abuse, help for depression and suicide and self-harm, eating disorders and health disorders related to prevention of overweight and obesity.

We continue to be ready to communicate and cooperate in the field of health and well-being of the youth of Tauragė district.

Brain battle "Health superheroes" for the youth of Tauragė district

The winners of the mental battle after five intense rounds were the Tauragė "Versmės" high school team, which won invitations to the May 20.
